In the midst of the ITP period.

Hey!

Happy Mid-Autumn Festival!
Mooncakes?!

Okay, I know, it had been 1 plus months since I last blogged. Hmm. Whatever. Ha ha.

I had been busy with ITP or attachment or working (whatever terms you like to call it). Well, it's not really working, but learning new skills that are not taught at school. Cell culture techniques are not taught yet, but if they're taught in school (they'll be taught next academic year), I reckon the amount of practices for that may be limited to a few times and not as extensive as the number of practices I had for them during ITP yet (once, twice or even more per week), and so does protein assay techniques that are not taught in school yet (they'll be taught next semester, for my stage).

But with learning of those skills during the attachment, it comes with free time which can be annoying boring or interesting exciting as the only thing that I can do during the free time is using the computer to use the Internet for entertainment or information (can't go Facebook or gaming sites) or do graphs using softwares. I don't dare to ask for more work as the people at the company seem to be busy in the office or laboratory (where my work-desk, a lab bench with computer and machines, is), and yet we're encouraged to be proactive in asking whether the people in the company need help (apparently if we help, they may help us instead). Ironic?

It's 2 weeks or 10 days to the end of the ITP. I don't know whether to miss those times during the attachment. It certainly had been an eye-opener, but still, I still don't have that kind of attachment (or bond). But still, it had been definitely a new experience. So, in advance, I got to thank the company for accommodating me for the ITP. I guess I still need to improve on my practical skills or hand-on.

Okay, I had a few meeting-ups with friends, from eating dinner with some poly classmates who are having ITP to an afternoon day out with secondary school schoolmates. But I guess I prefer to stay at home with computer, Internet and television to socializing events. Ha ha.

Year 2's Semester 1's academic result had been quite okay. I shall work harder for the next semester (which I, apparently, will do the same as the previous semester). People from another stage are making me stressed.

Time has been rushing, and it's now October 2009. I can't want for the school to start and new television dramas to air. *hint* Next year will be another brand new year of unexpected surprises or troubles. ;)

Okay, that's all. Bye!

PS: In the progress of thinking of changing blog address and (maybe) style. Now should I?

The End of Year 2, Semester 1.

Hey.

Okay, after, er, exactly one month of inactivity in this blog, I am going to update this blog again.

August had been a (sort of) busy month of studying for tests and exams. All those tests and exams were tough. But then, all those tests and exams are over! Yay! It's time to rest for a while and await the ITP that I had (forcefully) signed up for. I wonder how the experience working for the company that I had chosen for ITP would be like. I hope that the people there would be okay (not too demanding). I don't mind washing test tubes. Ha ha.

I guess for this semester I wouldn't be getting no or one or two As for my modules; I shall say hello to Bs.

Molecular Biology was quite interesting but tedious; the tests and exam weren't nice papers to have at all. Anatomy & Physiology 2 was okay but tedious; loads of memory work and I managed to study the whole content of the module (that involves 8 chapters which require you to remember the content very well) for the exam one week or a few days before the exam. Basic Instrumental Analysis was quite interesting and okay (though it's more about the mechanism of machines rather than science).

Metabolic Biochemistry was bad; loads of memory work involving all those enzymes, substrates and conditions of the biochemical reactions like hexose monophosphate shunt can kill millions of brain cells and the written tests for this module require you to appreciate the art of language. Environmental Science was so-so; the lessons of one particular lecturer was "very interesting". Laboratory Management and Biosafety was so-so; content of that module can induce sleep during lectures most of the time. Personal Financial Planning (GEM) was quite interesting; I didn't know about various financial terms until I took up this GEM.

Overall, this semester wasn't so smooth sailing in the academic sector.

Rotaract's CCA activities weren't so fun and interacting (for me). I didn't get to know much people there (except 1 to 2 persons), and even I try to talk to others, they are in cliques and interact among themselves. Well, I guess I shall go solo in the club then.

Luck is not shining on me for my CCA affairs. Let nature takes its course then.

Okay, nothing to blog on for the moment. Till then, bye!

It's time for a little update.

Hey!

It's August! OMG, two more months to the next quarter of the year! Time fly like the speed of light.

Okay, I am going to update my (perhaps) dying blog with something. Ha ha.

School had been hectic. I had gotten back most of my MSTs result (like finally!), except Environmental Science's, which I think I would get a maximum grade of a B. Some are quite okay, while some are not (like Metabolic Biochemistry, if not for a retest, I would have been so screwed up with that). So many datasheets to be completed, more tutorials to be done and look through, many lectures to be serious about (though some are boring and can induce sleep). What's the bang now is the tests plus exams coming up from next week onwards. One of the exams fall on August 31, which means I can't go back to my secondary school on the eve of Teachers' Day! Oh no! Ha ha.

My schedule of the tests and exams for the weeks ahead:

Week 16Week 17Week 18Week 19Week 20Week 21 onwards till the next semester (no such weeks, cos it's supposed to be vacation time!)*faints*

Okay, I have nothing to blog. Till the battle with the tests and exams are over, bye!

After the vacation and MSTs.

Hey.

I know donkey years had passed since I last updated my blog. I'm not those type of blogger who like to blog very frequently or very randomly. Maybe my interest in the cyberspace nowadays is on Facebook (you know that!), Youtube (for music videos), E-books (as some books are quite difficult to borrow from local and school libraries), comments on blogs and forums (not related to people around me but entertainment) and information about movies and music on websites. My interest in blogging is getting to a stagnant phrase.

Vacation was so-so, with those reports that required hours of usage of brain cells and nerve cells and some of those cells are neurons that fired all those electrical impulses (opps, too much Anatomy and Physiology lessons). My class had a BBQ session after the NEWater visit. It was kind of fun; the class kind of bonded together, although there were people who didn't attend the BBQ session. BBQ, Frisbee and "monkey" game were some of the activities done during the BBQ session, and Ruzanna and I left along with Madam Koh, who dropped the two of us off at different location for both of us to a BBQ session with family and to go home respectively. I concluded I'm getting a phobia for BBQ sessions, as I had one BBQ session for this year's April, May and June. Carcinogen attack!

Okay, I got to thank those people who wished me happy birthday and gave me those presents (which I think is expensive) and the short birthday celebration during the class BBQ. So, I shall say:

THANKS! =)

18.

The legal age for driving, drinking alcohol, watching M18 films and some other activities.

Hmm, for me, I think the new things that I'm looking forward to being 18 are, perhaps, being able to drive and watching M18 movies. Drinking alcohol and some other activities don't look agreeable to me.

Okay, back to school. MSTs are over! Yay! But MSTs is bad!

Here is a short summary of my commentary (which I always love to do for MSTs, ICAs and exams) on MSTs:

Very rocky:
Moderately rocky:
Slightly rocky:
=(

But on the good side, I finished my 2 lab reports- Molecular Biology (Practical 2 and 3) and Basic Instrumental Analysis (Practical 1). I shall attempt to rush Environmental Science (NEWater) report and touch-ups on those lab reports tomorrow or later! I shall rest for the moment. =P

Okay, I have nothing to blog. Till then, bye!

PS: Harry Potter and Half-Blood Prince film! Angels and Demons soundtrack! Linkin Park "New Divide"! Green Day "Know Your Enemy"! Evanescence music! Digital Fortress book! =D
